Inter Milan confirm departures of four experienced players

Inter Milan have announced the departure of four key figures who have played significant roles in the club's recent history. Following the expiration of their respective contracts, Francesco Acerbi, Yann Sommer, Stefan de Vrij, and Matteo Darmian are officially leaving the Nerazzurri.

Francesco Acerbi, who joined the club in 2023, departs after winning six trophies, including two Serie A titles. Goalkeeper Yann Sommer, also arriving in 2023, leaves after a successful tenure where he established himself as the first-choice goalkeeper, contributing to four trophy wins.

The club also confirmed the exit of Stefan de Vrij, who has been with Inter since 2018, and Matteo Darmian, who concludes a six-season spell. Both defenders leave the club with nine trophies each to their name, marking a highly decorated period for the squad.

These departures signal the end of a specific cycle for the team. While the squad enjoyed substantial domestic success, this generation of players was unable to secure the Champions League title, despite reaching the finals in 2023 and 2025.
