Hull City owner Acun Ilicali has pledged to initiate legal action should his team lose Saturday's Championship play-off final against Middlesbrough. The dispute centres on the decision to reinstate Boro into the competition following the expulsion of Southampton.
Southampton had originally beaten Middlesbrough in the semi-finals but were removed from the tournament after admitting to spying on their opponents' training sessions. Middlesbrough were subsequently reinstated in their place, a decision that has drawn intense criticism from the Hull hierarchy.
"Our legal team says that we have to go for action, that's for sure," Ilicali stated ahead of the match at Wembley. "So we have no doubt about it. Here, all we want is justice. If justice is broken, nobody will enjoy football."
