Serie A side Frosinone has officially announced the acquisition of Werder Bremen midfielder Romano Schmid. The 26-year-old Austrian international has committed to a long-term contract that runs until the summer of 2030.
The transfer fee is set at 8.5 million euros, which includes performance-related bonuses. Schmid had been with the German club since January 2019, consistently playing a key role in their setup. Last season, he featured in 35 matches, contributing four goals and eight assists.
For Frosinone, who secured their return to Serie A at the end of last season, this addition is expected to provide significant creative reinforcement in midfield. The club will look to integrate him quickly as they prepare for the challenges of the top flight.
Schmid could potentially make his debut in the opening round of the season, where Frosinone is scheduled to face Juventus on August 23.
