London City Lionesses

England international Freya Godfrey has officially committed her future to London City Lionesses by signing a new three-year contract with the club.

The 21-year-old forward was a standout performer during the team's debut Women's Super League campaign, earning the Players' Player of the Season award. Her impact was significant, contributing six goals and four assists as London City secured a sixth-place finish. Her form also earned her multiple call-ups to the England senior squad throughout the 2025-26 season.

Godfrey originally joined the club on loan from Arsenal in January 2025 before completing a permanent transfer last summer. This followed her crucial role in helping London City win the WSL 2 title and achieving promotion to the top flight for the first time.

I'm made up to sign a new contract at London City. I've loved my time here so far. We have world class players here, people who have won World Cups, Champions League titles and know what it takes to win. A big part of a young player's development is game time and having been given time, I feel I've come on in leaps and bounds on the pitch and also off the pitch. Freya Godfrey
