French Court of Cassation confirms Achraf Hakimi to stand trial for rape
The supreme court has rejected Achraf Hakimi’s appeal, clearing the way for a trial before the Hauts-de-Seine criminal court.

France's Court of Cassation confirmed on Wednesday that footballer Achraf Hakimi will stand trial before the criminal court of the Hauts-de-Seine department on charges of rape.
The supreme court dismissed the appeal filed by the player's defense team. According to a statement from Bertrand Périer, the lawyer for the plaintiff, the court found that there were no serious grounds to admit the appeal, aligning with the opinion of the reporting judge and the conclusions of the advocate general.
This ruling effectively paves the way for the judicial proceedings to move forward in the criminal court.
