Finland secures victory against Albania in Nations League

In a pivotal Group C1 match of the 2026/27 Nations League, Finland secured a 2:1 comeback victory over Albania at the Olympic Stadium in Helsinki. The win moves the Finnish side to the top of their group.
Albania took an early lead through Rey Manaj just four minutes into the game. However, the dynamics of the match shifted dramatically in the 22nd minute when goalkeeper Etrit Berisha was sent off, leaving the visitors a man down. Finland capitalized on the numerical advantage shortly after, with Leo Walta netting the equalizer.
Walta struck again in the 71st minute to complete his brace and secure the points for the hosts. Finland now leads Group C1 with seven points, while Albania remains in second place with six.
