Fenerbahce have officially dismissed reports suggesting they are in negotiations to sign Chelsea winger Jamie Gittens. The Turkish club labelled the circulating rumours as completely unfounded and a deliberate attempt to manipulate their transfer agenda.
In a statement released on their website, the club declared that attempts to steer their sporting direction through false claims would have no impact. Fenerbahce stressed that their transfer strategy is determined solely by their own internal needs and established planning, rather than external media speculation.
The club also urged fans to disregard such gossip, noting that their current focus is exclusively on the upcoming Trendyol Super League opening match against Genclerbirligi. The Turkish side has already been highly active in the market, securing major deals for Romelu Lukaku and Mason Greenwood.
Jamie Gittens, who joined Chelsea from Borussia Dortmund for £48 million, struggled during a debut season hampered by a hamstring injury. He remains part of Xabi Alonso's plans at Stamford Bridge, where he is working to overcome his fitness setbacks and secure a consistent role in the team.
