Fatih Tekke leaves Trabzonspor: Mohamed Salah left without head coach
Fatih Tekke has departed as Trabzonspor manager by mutual consent following a Europa League exit and poor domestic results. Huseyin Cimsir takes over as interim boss.

Trabzonspor have confirmed the departure of head coach Fatih Tekke. The decision was reached by mutual agreement following a series of disappointing results, including a premature exit from the Europa League and a difficult start to the domestic campaign.
The pressure on the 48-year-old had mounted significantly after the team suffered a humiliating 5-0 aggregate defeat to Ferencvaros in the Europa League play-offs. Tekke had initially offered to step down immediately after that loss, but the board had refused to accept his resignation at the time, urging him to continue.
However, the board’s support proved short-lived following a 2-1 league defeat against Amedspor this past Tuesday. The result triggered fresh talks, leading to the decision to part ways.
In an official statement, the club expressed gratitude for Tekke's 18-month tenure, highlighting the Turkish Cup success and the stability he brought to the club. Both parties ultimately agreed that a change was necessary to prioritize the club's future goals.
The timing of the exit presents a challenge for summer marquee signing Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian forward has been a standout performer in a struggling team, scoring three goals in his first five appearances.
As the club begins the search for a permanent successor, Huseyin Cimsir has been appointed as interim manager for the upcoming fixture. Trabzonspor face immediate pressure to improve their league form, having secured only one victory in their opening three matches.
