Enzo Fernandez left out of Manchester City leadership group
Enzo Maresca has confirmed four Man City captains, with record signing Enzo Fernandez excluded from the leadership team.

Midfielder Enzo Fernandez has faced an early setback following his blockbuster £125m move to Manchester City. Despite his marquee status, head coach Enzo Maresca has opted not to include the Argentine in his four-man leadership group for the upcoming campaign.
Speaking ahead of the fixture against Coventry City, Maresca clarified the squad hierarchy. The Italian manager confirmed that the captaincy group is comprised of Ruben Dias, Erling Haaland, Marc Guehi, and Gianluigi Donnarumma.

The snub is notable given Fernandez's history at Chelsea, where he wore the armband on 57 occasions, including 43 times under Maresca himself. This new leadership structure reflects the turnover at the Etihad following the departures of key figures like Rodri and Bernardo Silva.
Despite the lack of an official leadership role, Maresca confirmed that Fernandez is ready to make his debut this weekend. The manager emphasized the squad's excitement regarding the arrival of the 25-year-old, noting that his teammates were eager to see him join the club.
