Newcastle United defender Tino Livramento is a doubt for England's World Cup campaign after suffering a fresh muscular injury. The 23-year-old is understood to have sustained the setback during a training session on Sunday and is currently being assessed by medical staff.
This latest concern follows a difficult period for the defender, who had already missed the final five weeks of the domestic season due to a thigh injury. His participation in the tournament is now uncertain, with England's opening match against Croatia scheduled for Wednesday.
Should Livramento be officially ruled out, the Three Lions may look to their standby list for a replacement. Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah is currently considered the primary candidate to step in if a squad change is required.
