Emerse Faé leaves Ivory Coast national team head coach role

The Ivorian Football Federation has officially announced the conclusion of Emerse Faé's tenure as head coach of the national team. The 42-year-old coach has decided not to renew his contract, which expired on July 31, 2026.

In an official statement, the federation expressed deep gratitude for Faé’s professionalism and service, noting that the results achieved during his leadership have become a significant part of modern Ivorian football history.

Faé departs after a highly successful period, having managed 36 matches with 25 wins, 4 draws, and 7 losses. His crowning achievement was leading the Elephants to victory in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations on home soil.

Furthermore, Faé successfully guided the national team to the 2026 World Cup—the nation's first appearance in the tournament since 2014—during a qualifying campaign where the team maintained a perfect defensive record, conceding zero goals.

The federation's executive committee is now tasked with appointing a successor and building a new technical staff to continue the work established during Faé's era.
