Ekstraklasa Round 4: Khlan stars for Gornik, Shakh debuts for Lechia
A recap of the Polish league weekend, featuring a decisive goal from Maksym Khlan and a difficult start for Lechia Gdansk.

The fourth round of the Polish Ekstraklasa was once again fragmented due to the European commitments of several clubs. With two matches postponed, the league table remains uneven early in the season, a common occurrence in Polish football.
Of the seven matches played, all produced winners, highlighting a competitive round. Legia Warsaw stood out, crushing Radomiak 5-0 to take the sole lead in the standings with 10 points from four matches.
For Ukrainian fans, Maksym Khlan was the standout performer for Gornik Zabrze. The winger scored a brilliant free-kick in the 52nd minute, which ultimately sealed the win against Wisla Krakow. Despite the goal, his overall performance was marked by individualistic play, occasionally neglecting teammates in key transitions.
On the other side of the spectrum, Lechia Gdansk continues to struggle, sitting at the bottom of the table after a 0-1 loss to Ruch Chorzow. The match saw the debut of 20-year-old Artur Shakh, who joined on loan. Meanwhile, the future of Ivan Zhelizko remains a major talking point amid transfer rumors, and defender Yegor Matsenko had a challenging afternoon for Slask Wroclaw, directly contributing to a goal conceded late in the game.
