Casemiro's first appearance at his home stadium with Inter Miami turned into a nightmare. After joining Lionel Messi's side as a free agent from Manchester United just last week, the 34-year-old was expected to bolster the squad, but his home debut against Columbus Crew unraveled quickly.
Inter Miami were leading 1-0 thanks to a Luis Suarez strike when, in the 33rd minute, Casemiro inexplicably lost possession under no pressure. Moments later, a cross into the penalty area saw the Brazilian turn the ball into his own net.
Cameras captured Lionel Messi looking clearly unimpressed while watching from the bench. Casemiro appeared visibly dejected after the sequence, which drew immediate criticism from fans online who questioned the former Real Madrid star's current form.
