French club Lille has officially announced the appointment of Davide Ancelotti as their new head coach. The 36-year-old Italian replaces Bruno Genesio, who was dismissed at the end of May despite securing a third-place finish in Ligue 1 and qualification for the UEFA Champions League.

For Ancelotti, this is his second head coaching role following a six-month tenure at the Brazilian club Botafogo in 2025. Prior to this, he worked extensively as an assistant to his father, Carlo Ancelotti, at clubs including Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Napoli, and Everton.

The two-year contract marks a new chapter for both the coach and the club. Lille will look to maintain their competitive edge in Europe under his leadership following their successful campaign last season.
