Danny Welbeck enjoyed a dream start to his Chelsea career, scoring the opening goal in a 2-0 Carabao Cup second-round victory over Luton Town. The win at Stamford Bridge was sealed with a second goal coming from a Hakeem Odoffin own goal.
The 35-year-old striker, who was an unused substitute in the opening league weekend, made an immediate impact in his first competitive start. Welbeck noted the tactical challenge posed by a compact defense, emphasizing the patience required to break through. Cole Palmer was also instrumental in the win, creating a match-high five chances.
