Daniel Maldini involved in car accident in Milan after match-winning goal

Cagliari forward Daniel Maldini was involved in a car accident on the outskirts of Milan on Sunday morning, September 13. The incident occurred just hours after the forward became the hero of Saturday's Serie A match against Atalanta in Bergamo, where he scored the decisive penalty in a 2-1 victory.

The crash took place around 05:15 at the intersection of Via Tolentino and Via Francesco Caracciolo. According to preliminary data from local authorities, Maldini's car, exiting Piazza Caneva, failed to yield to another vehicle. The collision caused Maldini's car to strike a parked Mercedes SUV.

Six people were involved in the accident, with five requiring hospital transport for check-ups. Maldini was taken to Fatebenefratelli Hospital under a "yellow code," indicating a situation requiring attention but posing no threat to life. Following a brief medical examination, the player was discharged.

"After a short examination in the emergency department, Daniel was discharged immediately. He feels well and did not suffer any serious injuries," assured the player's agent, Danilo Buongiorno.

The investigation into the circumstances of the accident is ongoing, while Daniel Maldini is expected to return to training with the Cagliari squad without restrictions in the near future to prepare for upcoming matches.
