Cruzeiro is making significant adjustments during the mid-season break. With less than three weeks until the resumption of the Brazilian Championship, manager Artur Jorge is reshaping his squad for the upcoming challenges.
The club has parted ways with five players: Kaiki has joined Como, while Walace, Japa, Janderson, and Bruno Alves have been sent out on loan. The departure of Kaiki creates a vacancy at left-back, which the club has already addressed with the arrival of Gabriel Rojas from Racing Club.
Furthermore, Cruzeiro is nearing the acquisition of forward Gabriel Pec. Negotiations with LA Galaxy are in the final stages, and the 25-year-old is expected to arrive in Brazil shortly to complete his move.
To maintain match fitness, the team has lined up two friendly matches. On Saturday, July 4, they will face Uruguayan side Defensor Sporting, followed by a trip to Brasilia to take on Gremio on July 12.
