Corinthians pays overdue player and staff salaries
The Brazilian club has settled three-week-old salary arrears, though image rights payments remain outstanding.

Brazilian club Corinthians announced on Thursday that it has finally cleared salary arrears for its players and coaching staff. The payments, which should have been made earlier, were three weeks overdue, highlighting ongoing cash flow issues within the organization.
While the standard salary payments have been settled, the club has yet to pay player image rights, which became due on the 20th. This situation mirrors the struggles from last month, when payments to the squad and manager Fernando Diniz were also delayed.
The financial pressure on Corinthians remains severe. The club is currently serving a transfer ban due to unpaid installments for the transfer of Venezuelan midfielder José Martínez. Furthermore, the club faces a potential new ban related to an outstanding debt to New York City for the loan of forward Talles Magno. The board is currently attempting to appeal these decisions through the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
