Christian Pulisic has confirmed he is feeling good and aiming for a return to the pitch in the United States' upcoming World Cup match against Turkey. The attacker missed the team's victory over Australia last week and several training sessions due to a left calf injury sustained before the tournament opener against Paraguay.
Pulisic resumed full-team training on Monday. Although the U.S. has already clinched the top spot in Group D, rendering Thursday's fixture at SoFi Stadium inconsequential in terms of progression, the captain is eager to maintain his rhythm ahead of the knockout rounds starting July 1.
I’m feeling good, positive going into our third game. Hopefully I’ll be able to play a part tomorrow. Christian Pulisic
The forward emphasized that the team is still pushing for a win to build momentum for the knockout stages. He dismissed concerns about losing sharpness, noting that he has been working individually and touching the ball daily throughout his recovery period.
Meanwhile, the USMNT is monitoring the status of midfielder Cristian Roldan, who is now questionable for the Turkey match after suffering a muscle strain during a recent training session. Head coach Mauricio Pochettino is set to provide a further update ahead of the fixture.
