Chelsea target two Mexican-American prospects from MLS

Chelsea continues its aggressive recruitment of young talent by setting its sights on two rising prospects from MLS academies: Benji Flowers and Vinny García. Both players share Mexican heritage, making them eligible for both the Mexican and United States national teams, a situation that has drawn significant attention from scouts on both sides of the border.

Benji Flowers, a 15-year-old forward with FC Dallas, has already secured a path to London. The deal ensures his move to Chelsea once he turns 18. Reports suggest an initial fee of approximately 3 million dollars, with performance-based add-ons potentially pushing the total value to 10 million dollars.

The next target for the London club is 16-year-old midfielder Vinny García, currently developing within the LA Galaxy structure. Chelsea is reportedly close to finalizing an agreement for the youngster to join in 2028 upon his 18th birthday. The deal is expected to be worth around 3 million dollars plus variables.

These potential acquisitions represent a new challenge for the Mexican Football Federation. While Flowers has already featured for the U.S. youth national teams, both players remain eligible for Mexico, forcing the Federation to closely monitor their development in the coming years as they progress toward their professional debuts in the Premier League.
