Chelsea have launched an ambitious pursuit of 19-year-old Hacken striker Felicia Schroder. Following their failed attempt to sign Khadija Shaw, who recently committed her future to Manchester City with a new contract, the Blues are now preparing a bid that could set a new world record in women's football.
Schroder has enjoyed a meteoric rise, recording 30 goals and nine assists in 26 starts during the 2025 season. Her standout performance in the inaugural UEFA Women's Europa Cup, where she netted eight goals in nine matches—including a decisive hat-trick in the final against Hammarby—has firmly established her as one of the most exciting young talents in the game.
Analysts highlight her natural goal-scoring instincts, clinical finishing with both feet, and explosive pace in transition as her primary assets. While her 5'4" stature makes her less of an aerial threat, her movement in the box is exceptional. Chelsea, currently looking to rebuild their attack following the departures of Sam Kerr and Catarina Macario, view her as the ideal focal point for the future.
Despite the high-profile interest, Schroder has previously expressed a cautious approach to her career path. Having signed a contract extension with Hacken last summer, she has emphasized the importance of choosing the right environment for her development. Her next decision will be pivotal as she aims to secure a spot in Sweden's squad for next summer's World Cup.
