Celtic manager Martin O'Neill admitted to hospital for minor procedure

Celtic manager Martin O'Neill has been admitted to hospital for a minor medical procedure. The club issued an official statement to address public concern and provide an update on his health.

The statement confirmed: "In response to speculation, we can confirm that Martin O'Neill has undergone a small procedure in hospital. We would envisage Martin being released from hospital in the next day or two and on behalf of Martin, we would like to thank supporters for their kind wishes. We would ask that the privacy of Martin and his family is respected."

This development comes shortly after O'Neill managed the team to a 1-0 win against Dundee on Monday, marking the start of their title defence. O'Neill, who recently secured a permanent deal following a successful interim spell, is currently resting.
