Cardiff City secure return of Liverpool's Calum Scanlon
Liverpool defender Calum Scanlon has rejoined Cardiff City on a season-long loan for the 2026-27 Championship campaign.

Left-back Calum Scanlon has returned to Cardiff City on a season-long loan from Liverpool. The 21-year-old previously joined the Bluebirds in February, where he made eight appearances in League One and helped the club secure promotion to the Championship.
Scanlon, who has also spent time on loan at Millwall, signed a new contract with Liverpool before finalizing his return to Cardiff. He is now set to provide competition for Joel Bagan in Brian Barry-Murphy's squad for the 2026-27 season.

The defender's arrival marks Cardiff's third senior signing of the summer, following the permanent deal for Nathan Trott from Copenhagen and the arrival of midfielder Jack Moylan from Lincoln City. The club begins its league campaign with a home fixture against Wrexham this coming Monday.
