Bruno Genesio has reached an agreement to become the new head coach of Marseille. The French manager is set to sign a two-year contract, with his official appointment expected ahead of the start of pre-season training on July 6.

Negotiations had been ongoing for several weeks, complicated by the club's financial hearings with UEFA and the DNCG. Once UEFA confirmed its decision—a €10 million fine and a requirement to maintain a positive transfer balance—the primary obstacles to Genesio's arrival were resolved.

Genesio plans to bring his own coaching staff to Marseille, including assistants Jérémy Bréchet and Dimitri Farbos, goalkeeping coach Nicolas Dehon, and performance director Thomas Choinard, with whom he previously worked at Rennes.

The club has initiated the process to terminate the contract of Habib Beye, who joined Marseille in February and was tied to the club until June 2027. While the legal separation is still ongoing, Marseille does not anticipate any issues regarding Genesio’s arrival for the start of training.
