Genesio took charge of Lille in the summer of 2024. During his two-season spell, the team played 99 matches, recording 50 wins, 19 draws, and 30 defeats. Under his leadership, the club showed steady improvement, finishing fifth in Ligue 1 in the 2024/25 campaign and rising to third place in the 2025/26 season.
