Bruno Genesio set to become new Marseille head coach

Bruno Genesio is set to become the new head coach of Marseille. According to Fabrizio Romano, the 59-year-old manager has reached an agreement to take charge of the French club.

The contract will run until the summer of 2028 and includes an option to extend for an additional season. He is expected to replace Habib Beye, who has been in charge of the team since February.

Genesio arrives following his departure from Lille in late May. Throughout his career, he has managed several clubs, including Lyon, Rennes, and Beijing Guoan.

The new coach faces a difficult environment at the club. Marseille is currently dealing with financial liabilities amounting to 157 million euros, which could lead to significant sanctions, including potential exclusion from European competitions.
