Brighton sign Canada striker Promise David on loan
Brighton have signed Canada forward Promise David from Royale Union Saint-Gilloise on a season-long loan with a £22m obligation to buy.

Brighton have announced the signing of 25-year-old Canada striker Promise David from Belgian side Royale Union Saint-Gilloise. The forward joins the Seagulls on a season-long loan deal.
The agreement includes an obligation to buy the player for a reported fee of £22 million. Since joining the Belgian outfit in 2024, David has made 82 appearances, contributing 41 goals and nine assists.

Sporting director Mike Cave noted that the player's experience on the international stage and in European competitions is expected to be a valuable asset for the team this season. David featured for Canada in four matches during the World Cup, scoring against Switzerland.
The arrival comes at a critical time as the club prepares for their Europa Conference League play-offs against Tromso on Thursday, followed by their Premier League season opener at Aston Villa this Sunday.
