Brighton in advanced talks to sign Lia Walti

Brighton are in advanced negotiations to sign Juventus and Switzerland midfielder Lia Walti. The 33-year-old captain, who has one year remaining on her contract in Italy, is reportedly eager to secure a return to the Women's Super League (WSL).

Walti moved to Italy in September 2025 following a highly successful seven-year stint with Arsenal. During her time in North London, she helped the club secure four major trophies, including both WSL and Champions League titles. She made 24 appearances for Juventus last season as they finished third in the league.

This move aligns with the growing ambitions of Brighton under manager Dario Vidosic. The club reached their first major final last season, ultimately falling to Manchester City in the Women's FA Cup. Brighton are currently focused on breaking into the WSL's top four, supported by plans to build Europe's first purpose-built stadium for their women's side.
