English club Brentford continues its active transfer strategy, focusing on securing young talent for the future. The Bees have announced the signing of 18-year-old Ecuadorian midfielder Darwin Guagua from Independiente del Valle for an undisclosed fee.
The player has signed a contract lasting until 2031, with an option for an additional year. While financial details remain private, Transfermarkt currently values the midfielder at approximately 2 million euros.
Despite the long-term commitment, the newcomer will not immediately join the squad in England. The club has decided to send him on a season-long loan to the Spanish side Merida, who compete in the Segunda Division, to gain consistent playing time in a European environment.
During the previous season, Guagua showed promise by recording two goals and three assists in 20 appearances, accumulating 891 minutes of playing time.
