Bournemouth in talks to sign Elche striker Alvaro Rodriguez
Bournemouth have opened negotiations for Elche forward Alvaro Rodriguez in a deal potentially worth £25m.
Bournemouth are in active discussions to sign Elche striker Alvaro Rodriguez. The proposed deal involves an initial fee of approximately £18 million, with potential add-ons that could see the total package rise to £25 million.
The 21-year-old, a Uruguay youth international also eligible for Spain, has been identified as a key target to bolster the attacking options at the Vitality Stadium. Should the move proceed, the player is expected to sign a five-year contract. Notably, Real Madrid are entitled to 50% of any transfer fee as part of their agreement with Elche from last summer.
New head coach Marco Rose, who succeeded Andoni Iraola, is looking to provide competition and cover for Evanilson. The club remains open to offloading Enes Unal for a suitable price as they look to build a more stable squad for the upcoming campaign following their qualification for the Europa League.
The club is also prioritizing the search for a left-sided centre-back. Meanwhile, despite significant interest from several top-tier clubs, Bournemouth remain firm that midfielder Alex Scott is not for sale.
