Benfica close to signing Joao Palhinha
The Portuguese club has agreed on a transfer fee of 19 million euros including bonuses for the Bayern midfielder.

Lisbon side Benfica are in the final stages of negotiations to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Joao Palhinha. According to Fabrizio Romano, both clubs have reached a full agreement on the financial terms of the deal.
The transfer fee is set at 14 million euros, with an additional 5 million euros available in potential bonuses. It is expected that both clubs will exchange all necessary documentation within the next 24 hours to complete the move.
This transfer comes after previous attempts for the player to move clubs fell through, including a failed switch to Aston Villa. Palhinha joined the German giants in the summer of 2024 from Fulham for a fee of 51 million euros.
The Portuguese international spent last season on loan at Tottenham Hotspur, where he made 45 appearances, scoring seven goals and providing three assists.
