BBC Sport launches live match updates on lock screens for 2026-27
Fans can now track live match scores directly on their lock screen using the updated BBC Sport app for the 2026-27 season.

For the 2026-27 season, the BBC has introduced a new feature designed to keep fans connected to the action. Supporters of clubs in the Premier League, Championship, League One, League Two, and the Scottish Premiership can now receive real-time match scores directly on their phone lock screens.
To activate the feature, users simply need to download the BBC Sport app and follow their preferred football teams. Once enabled, live updates will begin approximately one hour before kick-off and will clear automatically once the match concludes.
For Apple users, live updates appear automatically once a team is followed within the app. Android users must ensure that notifications are enabled in their device settings to receive these alerts. The feature can be disabled at any time without unfollowing the team.
