Barcelona and Al-Hilal have reached an agreement in principle for the permanent transfer of Portuguese full-back Joao Cancelo. Following the expiration of his loan deal at the end of June, the two clubs held negotiations that eventually resulted in a €10 million transfer fee.
The player had expressed a firm desire to remain with the Spanish side. During his loan spell, the 32-year-old made 23 appearances, contributing two goals and three assists to the team's efforts.
Representatives from both clubs are currently finalizing the legal documentation required to complete the move. Upon the conclusion of these formalities, Cancelo is expected to sign a two-year contract with Barcelona.
