Barcelona are set to return with a third offer for Manchester City forward Kerolin after having two previous bids rejected. Both clubs are reportedly working to find common ground to finalize the move.
The second proposal from the European champions would have already made the Brazilian forward the most expensive signing in the history of Barcelona's women's team. This fee would surpass the £400,000 paid for England international Keira Walsh in 2022. While that deal was a world record at the time, the rapid inflation of transfer fees in women's football means it has since slipped outside the top 25 most expensive signings ever.
Kerolin joined Manchester City in early 2025 and enjoyed a standout 2025-26 campaign. She recorded nine goals and five assists in the Women's Super League, playing a vital role in City's first league title in a decade, including a hat-trick against Chelsea.
The move is seen as essential for Barcelona following the departures of club legends like Alexia Putellas and the exit of Salma Paralluelo. The club is looking to add a dynamic game-changer to an attacking unit that still features Ewa Pajor and Caroline Graham Hansen.
For Manchester City, the potential sale represents a chance to capitalize on a significant fee while relying on a deep attacking squad that will soon see the return of Mary Fowler from injury. The funds would allow City to reinvest in the squad as they prepare for their upcoming Champions League campaign.
