Barcelona are one step away from securing the return of Joao Cancelo. The Catalan club has opened direct talks with the management of Saudi side Al-Hilal to finalize a deal that could significantly impact the summer transfer market.
According to reports from Spain, negotiations have reached an advanced stage, with both clubs moving toward a final agreement. The transfer fee is expected to be between 8 and 10 million euros, a sum that fits within Barcelona's current financial plans.
The decisive factor remains the player's personal desire. The 32-year-old has made it clear to those close to him that he is unwilling to continue at Al-Hilal and is doing everything in his power to return to Europe with the Catalan club. He maintains a strong relationship with the board and the technical staff led by Hansi Flick.
For the German coach, signing a top-class full-back is a priority to strengthen the squad before the window closes. Flick views Cancelo as an ideal candidate due to his vast experience and familiarity with the club and La Liga. The club aims to complete the deal as soon as possible, allowing Flick to integrate the player before the season opener against Elche on August 23.
