Barcelona cooled interest in Georges Mikautadze due to €70m price tag
Barcelona inquired about the Villarreal striker, but decided against a move after being quoted a €70 million fee.

Barcelona explored the possibility of signing Villarreal striker Georges Mikautadze. The Catalan club made an official inquiry to understand the terms for a potential transfer of the 25-year-old forward.
However, the negotiations stalled immediately. Villarreal set a valuation of €70 million for the player, a figure that the 'Blaugrana' deemed too high, leading them to withdraw from the deal entirely.
Mikautadze joined the Spanish side last summer from French club Lyon for a reported fee of €31 million. Since then, he has become a key figure for the team, making 43 appearances across all competitions, contributing 15 goals and 7 assists. The forward is currently tied to a long-term contract running until the summer of 2031.
