Catalan side Barcelona maintains a serious interest in 18-year-old Twente central defender Ruud Neistad. Club officials view the young talent as a key potential reinforcement for their defensive line in the coming years.

Representatives from the Spanish giants initiated contact regarding a possible transfer back in August. However, the negotiations did not progress, as Twente's leadership made it clear that the move was not an option at the time. The Dutch club views Neistad as a cornerstone of their current squad and has no intention of letting him go.

Despite the rejection in August, Barcelona has kept the player on their scouting list and continues to monitor his progress closely. Competition for the talented Dutchman is intensifying, with an increasing number of European clubs sending scouts to watch his performances. Neistad has played in almost every game this season, even contributing with a goal.

His current contract runs until the summer of 2029, and Transfermarkt currently values the defender at 10 million euros.
