Atlético squad news ahead of Copa do Brasil clash against Juventude
As Atlético prepares for the Copa do Brasil Round of 16 first leg, manager Eduardo Domínguez faces a mix of key returns and confirmed absences.
Ahead of the first leg of the Copa do Brasil Round of 16 against Juventude, Atlético Mineiro manager Eduardo Domínguez is managing a complex squad situation. The match, scheduled for this Saturday at Arena MRV, will see several tactical adjustments due to both absences and reinforcements.
The squad will be without young midfielder Cissé, who is serving an automatic suspension following a red card in the previous round against Ceará. Additionally, Léo Duarte, Patrick, and Índio remain sidelined with injuries. Forward Tomás Cuello remains a doubt, having only participated in partial training sessions this week while recovering from a thigh muscle injury.
On a positive note, midfielder Alan Franco is back in contention after resolving personal matters. Gustavo Scarpa is also expected to be available for the bench after recovering from his injury. Furthermore, new signing Thiago Borbas has been officially registered with the CBF and is available for selection, potentially marking his debut for the club against Juventude.
