Women's Super League side Aston Villa have confirmed the signing of Norway international defender Mathilde Harviken. The 24-year-old arrives from Italian club Juventus, where she had been playing since January 2025.

During her time in Turin, Harviken made nearly 50 appearances and gained experience in the Women's Champions League. Her tenure in Italy was highly successful, as she helped the team secure the Serie A title, the Coppa Italia, and the inaugural Serie A Women's Cup in 2025.

Harviken's professional journey began in Norway with spells at FL Fart and Roa IL before a move to Rosenborg in 2022, where she played over 80 matches. She made her senior international debut for Norway in 2022 and has since represented her country at the 2023 Women's World Cup and Euro 2025.

It's a really good opportunity to join a club with such a big history. There are great facilities here and everything you need to perform and continue developing as a player. Mathilde Harviken

Aston Villa's director of women's football, Marisa Ewers, stated that the club had been tracking Harviken's progress for over two years. She expressed confidence that the defender’s experience and attributes will allow her to make an immediate impact within the squad.
