Aston Villa is actively preparing for the possible departure of their first-choice goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez. According to reports, the Birmingham-based club has identified several candidates to fill the position should the Argentine leave.
One of the top candidates is Parma and Japan international Zion Suzuki. The club's shortlist also includes Guillaume Restes from Toulouse and James Trafford of Manchester City.
The club notes that a list of three potential replacements has been finalized, with the ultimate decision contingent upon Martinez's future. Meanwhile, Juventus has been linked with interest in the Argentine goalkeeper.
Martinez had a strong campaign last season, making 44 appearances across all competitions and playing a pivotal role in the team's success. In contrast, Suzuki has garnered attention after his impressive performances for Japan, where he helped his national team reach the knockout stages of the World Cup.
