Former Shakhtar and Ukraine national team forward Andriy Vorobey shared his views on current European football in an interview with Sport.ua. He offered his perspective on Arsenal's Premier League triumph, suggesting that Manchester City lacked the consistency shown by the London club this season.
"The Londoners have been building towards this for a long time. Mikel Arteta has created a stable and emotional team that deserved the trophy. I believe they worked hard over a long period to achieve this success," said Vorobey.
Regarding Pep Guardiola's departure from Manchester City, the expert noted that the manager likely needed a break after a decade at the club. Vorobey also commented on Alvaro Arbeloa's departure from Real Madrid and the potential appointment of Jose Mourinho, emphasizing that his success will depend on whether he can build a connection with the squad, similar to the approach previously taken by Carlo Ancelotti.
The forward also praised Cristiano Ronaldo, referring to him as a true legend. "This man deserves a standing ovation for maintaining such a high level at his age. He has been a star at every club he has played for," added Vorobey.
