Andoni Iraola Rejects AC Milan Due to Lack of Project Vision
Spanish coach Andoni Iraola has turned down an offer from AC Milan, prioritizing potential opportunities with Liverpool or Bayer Leverkusen.
43-year-old Spanish coach Andoni Iraola has rejected an offer from Italian side AC Milan. The club had proposed a three-year contract, but Iraola turned it down as he did not see sufficient long-term potential in the club's current project.
The decision was also influenced by a desire for a new challenge, having previously worked in Spain, Cyprus, and England. Iraola spent three seasons with Bournemouth, leading the club to its first-ever European qualification in the Europa League.
Currently a free agent following the 2025/26 season, the manager has been selective about his next step. Among the clubs interested in his services, Iraola has stated a clear preference for only two destinations: Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen.
