Alisson's potential contract extension could force Mamardashvili exit
Giorgi Mamardashvili is unlikely to accept another season as a backup goalkeeper if Alisson signs a new deal at Liverpool.

The future of Liverpool goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili could hinge on the club's decision regarding Alisson. Should the Brazilian decide to extend his current contract, which runs until the summer of 2027, the Georgian international is expected to explore options to leave the club.
Mamardashvili arrived at Anfield from Valencia last year, but has so far been unable to establish himself as the team's first-choice keeper. With Alisson maintaining his spot in the starting lineup, the Georgian has been relegated to a backup role.
As noted by journalist James Pearce, it is unlikely that Mamardashvili would be willing to remain as the second-choice keeper for a third consecutive season. Consequently, a new deal for Alisson could force Liverpool to look for a new destination for the Georgian to ensure his development continues through regular minutes.
