Al-Ittihad's Mario Mitaj closing in on Serie A move
Genoa are in negotiations to sign Al-Ittihad full-back Mario Mitaj on a season-long loan with an option to buy.

Al-Ittihad full-back Mario Mitaj is nearing a move to the Italian Serie A. According to reports from the Saudi newspaper Al-Riyadiyah, Genoa have opened negotiations with the Saudi club to secure the services of the 23-year-old Albanian international.
The Italian side is pursuing a season-long loan deal that includes an option to make the transfer permanent. Both clubs are currently working to finalize the agreement before the summer transfer window closes.
Mitaj arrived at Al-Ittihad in the summer of 2024 from Lokomotiv Moscow. Since moving to Saudi Arabia, he has become a key figure in the squad, making 58 appearances while contributing two goals and six assists. He also played a vital role in the team's successful league and King's Cup double-winning campaign.
