Saudi club Al-Hilal has shifted its strategy regarding Darwin Nunez. Following a lack of suitable offers for a permanent transfer, the club's board has decided to authorize a loan move for the Uruguayan striker.
While the player's entourage and the club explored various permanent exit routes in recent weeks, every attempt has been unsuccessful. Consequently, Al-Hilal is now actively looking for a destination that can take the striker on loan while covering a significant portion of his substantial salary.
According to reports, club officials are set to travel to Turkey this week to initiate discussions with a major local club. Interest also remains from teams in the English Premier League and Portugal. While Barcelona has been mentioned as a potential party, no concrete progress has been made, though the clubs remain in contact regarding other business.
The decision aims to return Nunez to Europe to regain his match fitness and market value before a potential sale next year. Nunez was signed from Liverpool for 55 million euros, but his time in Saudi Arabia has not met expectations. Meanwhile, the management continues to face a different challenge with Karim Benzema, who remains steadfast in his desire to stay at the club.
