Saudi Arabian club Al-Ahli is pushing forward with plans to appoint a new head coach. Spanish tactician Marcelino Garcia is the primary candidate to replace German coach Matthias Jaissle as the club prepares for the upcoming season.
According to journalist Santi Aouna, the club's management has tabled a two-year contract offer worth up to 12 million euros annually. While Marcelino is keen to take on the challenge and lead the new sporting project, he has stipulated a key condition before finalizing the deal.
The Spaniard wants to bring his entire coaching staff with him to Saudi Arabia. The two parties are currently negotiating this aspect, as one member of his staff remains reluctant to make the move, which has delayed the official signing.
Al-Ahli is not prepared to let the talks linger indefinitely. If a resolution is not reached with Marcelino soon, the club expects to open discussions with alternative coaching candidates in the coming days.
